East Mining Company annually organizes the Epiphany dip together with the Uglegorsk district administration. This year, the organizers have implemented a number of activities on baptismal font installations, as well as transport support to the place of dipping. There was also the Epiphany camp equipped with warm tents for changing of clothes, hot tea and sweets.
In total, the event was attended by more than half a thousand people.
Traditionally, the ablution was held on the Nadezhdinka river. For everyone who wanted to plunge into the font, there were created the most comfortable and safe conditions. The cross-shaped baptismal font was decorated with lighting elements to create a festive atmosphere. The path to the font was covered with ice-melting coating for additional safety of residents and guests of the district. The changing tents were equipped with metal wood stoves. The district community center organized background music. Each stage was well-arranged in advance to create the most comfortable environment for bathers.
At three o'clock in the morning, the Archpriest of the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, Anatoly, performed the font dedication service. After that, the believers plunged into the ice-hole.
For all those who take a dip into the water, in the guest tent EMCO prepared a real "Russian tea party" with Ivan Chai and dried biscuits. This type of tea was chosen not by coincidence. The drink has a pleasant rich taste and is an excellent antiviral agent that gives the body vitality. After the icy water, it cheers up and warms well. The drink is one of the traditions introduced by the company for Epiphany dip.
— I came to Uglegorsk district in 2018 from the Kemerovo region. I bathed there on Epiphany day for five years in a row. I'm used to it, but the feeling is unique every time. The body is burning, great! Here we are pleased with the good organization, beautiful decoration of the cross cut in the ice. Bathers can warm up and change their clothes in special changing tents, for men and women separately. You can also drink fresh Ivan Chai!,- Ravil Garipov, Deputy Director for industrial safety of Solntsevsky Coal Mine, shared his impressions.
The Epiphany camp was open for more than 24 hours. During the whole period, there were special shuttle buses from Shakhtersk and Uglegorsk, transporting the faithful to the Nadezhdinka river. The safety of bathers was provided by the relevant services.
East Mining Company pays special attention to the revival of spiritual and moral values. Important attention is paid to the support of spiritual traditions at the company's enterprises. These events are an indicator of EMCO social responsibility, focused on the region development.
