East Mining Company supported the first contest in Uglegorsk district among children from kindergartens reading poems about Sakhalin.
17 preschoolers from 5 to 7 from six kindergartens in Uglegorsk and Shakhtersk took part in the poetry reading. All the kids are actively getting ready to school and have mastered the skills of emphatic speech. Such competitions help young Sakhalin residents to learn more about their native island and feel more confident in public.
Melina Novruzova took first place, Yegor Zakarlyuka is in second place, and Alina Kolchina got the "poetry bronze". The Grand Prix was awarded to Kira Khlebunova. The winners got the certificates of honor. All participants of the contest received memorable gifts from East Mining Company.
The contest was held on the basis of a pre-school institution which East Mining Company works with. This summer, the company helped to organize a local history museum that opened for kindergarten pupils.
