The cadets of the first batch of the advanced training program "Open-Pit Dump Truck Driver" by EMCO accomplished their training. They have successfully passed the exam and are ready to start working at Solntsevsky Coal Mine.
Specialists of the Eastern Mining Company, together with teachers from the Sakhalin Mining Technical School, developed a program of advanced training for the profession "Open-Pit Dump Truck Driver" with the assistance of the Human Capital Development Agency of the Sakhalin Region. It is designed for residents of the Sakhalin Region who wish to receive professional retraining with subsequent employment at Solntsevsky Coal Mine LLC.
The educational platform was the Sakhalin Mining College, located in the Uglegorsk region. Within the walls of the educational institution, the future drivers of open pit dump trucks mastered the theoretical material, and honed their practical driving skills in the trucks of the Solntsevsky coal mine.
- “The undoubted advantage of this project is that the residents of the Uglegorsk district, as well as the entire Sakhalin region, have the opportunity to retrain and get a new profession “Open-Pit Dump Truck Driver”. The cadets of the first batch successfully passed the exam, received certificates and are ready to start working at our enterprise. We are pleased with the result, so we have already announced the recruitment of the next group, ”said Alexei Sharabarin, director of the Solntsevsky Coal Mine.
40 residents of the Sakhalin Region applied to participate in the new educational program of the East Mining Company. 11 people passed the competitive selection. All of them passed the theoretical assignments on the basis of the Sakhalin Mining Technical School, and the practical ones - at the specialized site of the Solntsevsky Coal Mine. Among the graduates, Ekaterina Lee demonstrated her mastery. For example, she completed the examination task "U-turn on a limited area with a single-time reverse gear use" among the best cadets. The girl maneuvered the 90-ton Komatsu with ease and confidence.
- “I went to study for stability in order to get a job in the future. The training was quite easy, the teacher was good, he explained everything well. We tried not to miss, attended all classes. Although we were afraid of the exam. I studied, but still worried, ”says Ekaterina Lee, a graduate of the first batch.
As noted earlier, the EMCO advanced training program "Open-Pit Dump Truck Driver" combines the study of the theoretical foundations of the profession, as well as practical training in driving a open pit truck. The practice takes place in the training center on dynamic simulators, and for the period of internship - on BelAZ and Komatsu dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90 to 220 tons. Each participant is accompanied by a mentor. It helps the mentee develop skills in driving a mining truck and introduces the production process in real conditions. It should be noted that the program is being conducted in accordance with the corporate standards of the East Mining Company. Cadets study models of dump trucks that are used at the Solntsevsky coal mine: BelAZ, Komatsu, as well as the software used in the drivers daily routine. Special attention is paid to security issues. Candidates who complete the course and successfully pass the final certification receive a certificate of completion of the professional program "Driver of an off-road vehicle of category AIII", a certificate for the right to drive a open-pit dump truck.
