East Mining Company Chairman Oleg Misevra was recognized as Exporter of the Year on the strength of II All-Russian Competition People of Business-2019.
Annual People of Business Awards have been initiated and held by the All Russia Public Organization Business Russia since 2018. The event is focused on identifying successful business practices of Russian entrepreneurship. The Exporter of the Year Award honors the best export-oriented business that affects favorably the status of a private enterprise in the region.
East Mining Company is on the list of 20 biggest producers of solid fuel in the country, as well as a top ten exporter of Russian coal. The company works closely with the Pacific Rim countries, where today the largest coal consumers in the world are concentrated — China, Korea, Japan-are concentrated. EMCO proved itself as a reliable supplier of low-sulfur brown coal. These characteristics of solid fuel are highly valued in the Asia-Pacific countries, as they correspond to the current environmental standards. As of 2019 the company started major deliveries to the Indian market. EMCO also plans to increase exports to other countries - Vietnam and the Philippines.
In 2018 EMCO produced and exported 7.5 million tons of coal. By the end of 2019, it is planned to increase the export of coal through the sea gate of Shakhtersk and in perspective - to reach the production and shipment of 20 million tons of coal per year.
